Year Round Travelers Summer Youth Program Inc. welcomes caring adults, mentors, community partners, and supporters who want to help youth grow with confidence, purpose, and leadership skills. Volunteers may assist with mentoring, events, workshops, transportation support, community outreach, donation drives, youth activities, and program support. Ready to help? Mentor Responsibilities
Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor with the Year Round Travelers Summer Youth Program. Mentors play an important role in supporting young people by offering guidance, encouragement, and positive role modeling.
Mentors help youth grow by being trusted role models, encouraging positive decisions, and helping them develop confidence, leadership skills, and life goals.
Mentors are asked to:
- Meet with their assigned youth once or twice each month
- Participate in positive one-on-one outings such as community events, educational activities, or recreational experiences
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor
- Provide encouragement, guidance, and support
- Help youth build confidence, leadership, and life skills
- Encourage positive decision-making and personal growth
- Communicate respectfully with youth, parents, and program staff
Mentors do not need special experience — just a commitment to supporting and being a positive influence in a young person’s life.
Mentor Commitment
Mentors are asked to commit to meeting with their assigned youth at least once or twice per month and participating in occasional group program activities.
Even a few hours each month can make a lasting difference in a young person’s life.
